Lopium used to treat sudden diarrhea (Including traveler’s diarrhea). It is used to reduce the ampel in patients who have undergone ileostomy. It is also used to treat ongoing diarrhea in people with inflammatory bowel disease. It treats only the symptoms, not the cause of diarrhea (e.g., infection).
